You can cut your electricity bills by up to 10% - Cost of electricity WILL continue to rise!
By the installation of a simple device you can reduce your electricity bills by as much as 10%. Voltage optimisation is a time proven technology in large installations, but now this technology is available to domestic users.
We offer free independent advice and an installation service.
What is voltage optimisation? The UK average mains voltage is about 242V and can be as high as 253V. This is high compared to the rest of Europe and has two main consequences:
1. Excess voltage shortens the life of many electrical appliances. This is because they are designed for use on the lower European voltages. A good example is the element in your oven, in the UK there is a thriving business selling replacement elements because the high voltage considerably shortens its life.
2. Running your home at the higher voltage wastes energy. By reducing the voltage you will save energy and see a significant reduction on your electricity bills.
A voltage optimiser is typically installed between your meter and consumer/fuse board and reduces the voltage from an average of 242V to 220V. This seemingly small change will increase the life of your appliances AND save energy!
Will all my appliances work at the lower voltage? European harmonisation means ALL appliances sold in Europe have to work across a voltage range of 207V to 244V. The European nominal is 230V. You can verify this by reading the specification of some of your appliances, you will see that it is designed to work from 220V to 240V in most cases. We will advise you accordingly, if any of your older appliances will not work at a reduced voltage.
How much will it cost? This depends on the condition of your current installation and which voltage optimiser is suitable for your home. We are an independent company and will talk you though the options and provide a no obligation free quotation.
Is my home suitable for voltage optimisation? Most homes will benefit from this technology. We will carry out a detailed survey to ensure that you will see cost savings.
How long does an installation take? Typically half a day, we tidy up when we've finished and carry out a full system check. We also set a date six months after the installation to return and check everything is OK - this six month check is free of charge!
What should I do next? We offer free and independent advice to anyone considering this technology. During an initial meeting a qualified electrician will:
Subsequently, we will provide you with a report and if applicable, a full quotation detailing the likely savings.
